The First Four

Months they had slept, safe in the thick metal wombs, sunken into the factory floor. First bone, then organs, then muscle and nerve had been slowly replaced or rebuilt. As they dreamed every last cell of their bodies was cast away for enduring metals, carbon fibres, plastics, and crystal. She caressed them as they arose into the cool vapors of the factory. Masks, both protective and filled with extra sensory devices, were fitted to their latex faces. She felt them dreaming, already connected to her. Soon she would begin programming them, and they would be hers completely.
